Billy Joel-Movin' Out (Anthony's Song) 1978

"...sing us a song..."

So last night was the long-awaited Billy Joel concert. Truth be told, I have never paid as much for a concert ticket before-I think my ticket was $60+dollars (times that by two for Hallie's ticket). Was it worth it you may ask? Yes, here's why:

Billy Joel has been a staple in my life. My earliest memories of liking music-REALLY liking it, are of listening to Billy Joel with my parents as a young, young child. Throughout the years I have branched out to many genres of music, spending most of my time in punk rock, hardcore and indie rock music, but Billy Joel has always been a priority throughout all the music I have found over the years and each song and album have meaning and could represent a different part of my life.

As he hit the first key on the piano, I had chills run down my back and more memories of both good and bad times then my brain knew how to process came like a flash flood and I'll admit, I fought back a few tears from all the emotion. Sissy of me? Maybe, but whatever. He played for over two hours and mused us with his great sense of humor and amazing catalogue of songs. It's true, he is getting older, but he shows no signs of it in his performing. Though I do envy those like my dad (and mom, I think) who were older and able to see him in a small bar/club before he gained his arena show status.

The Piano Man sang us a song...many...and did a damn fine job.

Question...

Who would you pick to win in a fight between a skeleton and a zombie?

FINALLY! Halloween Photos!

So in retrospect, I should have probably done some sort of slideshow for these...and the program wouldn't let me post them all in one posting...nevertheless here they are:

Ah, Yes. Another Challenge

Yesterday I got some new tunes on my iPod and as I scrolled down to find the new tunes to check them out in my car, I went past several bands whom I have never listened to since aquiring them from friends and I thought: I should go through each band on my iPod and have made a goal to do such this week. Who is up for the challenge?

I thought it would be fun, but then again, I thought Jer and I's Christmas mustache growing contest was going to be a huge hit...but turns out all our guys friends are too sissy and we're just competing against each other now. The real men will be easy to spot at this year's sweater party though.

Giving Thanks

"Gratitude is a mark of a noble soul and refined character. We like to be around those who are grateful. They tend to brighten all around them.
They make others feel better about themselves.
They tend to be more humble, more joyful, more likable."
Joseph B. Wirthlin
I recieved this quote this morning and just had to share it.

Blue Man

So, to be honest, I don't really have any pictures of the epic, Post Post Halloween Party. I didn't feel like spending my evening lugging my camera around and/or getting blue paint on it. So, I am waiting for others to get their pics to me, which hopefully will be soon.

For now, all I have (at work right now) is this pic I took of myself on Halloween at work-yep we dress up at work! I do have some pics of Hallie that I'll have to put up this weekend when I get a chance.

How was the party you ask? Well, let me tell you. The turnout was pretty impressive, especially considering the party was in Heber this year at Jer's parent's cabin to avoid problems with neighbors and cops.

Many of the costumes were fantastic. There was Andy Lillian-who took first place-as a human pinata, the big dude, Lars, from Guitar Hero-complete with a Guitar Hero guitar-he took second place-and well, I don't want to brag, but I took third place. We had some pirates, some ghouls, James Bateman as a rosy-cheeked woman and Bryan Bostrom in a blow-up suit that made him an overweight woman were some of the things that stood out to me, though there were many more honorable mentions for sure.

The music was awesome. The Gutter Zombies reunited and added Dusty into the mix, playing an entire Clash cover set. Led by Tyler on vocals, who dressed up as the late Joe Strummer, and did, if I do say so, a very good job not only with the costume, but with the vocals. And of course The Pyschonauts put on another great show-their 5th year doing such. The bands played in front of a huge bed sheet that had the wonderful Evil Dead II being projected on it as a beautifully-gory backdrop that made for many hugh laughs and great entertainment during the bands' sets.

All in all, the party was a blast. About 15 or 20 slept over (if you call the 2 1/2-3 hours of sleep really sleeping) and enjoyed breakfast in the morning and some sepa sac.

A huge thank you to all involved and all who attended is in order: "THANK YOU!"

We'll see you next year!

Stupid Post

"Chest up butt down, no butt down! yea butt down chest up!"
(I'm not sure which move this goes with)
" Your gonna feel this in your bundas(?)"
(Pretty sure this is referring to lunges, and bundas means butt)

Sometimes being the receptionist and over hearing what trainers are saying to their clients really makes my day!
