I Just Did Something Real Stupid

The last few days Hallie and I have been driving from grocery store to grocery store in our free time (which has been almost nonexistent lately) searching for a special birthday cake for Hallie's step dad for a get together we're having tonight with him, Hallie's mom and my parents. Needless to say, this Holy Grail of cakes is nowhere to be found. We may as well be looking for the Holy Grail itself...in which case Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade gave some pretty convincing clues.

Anyway, while on my lunch break today I had to run to SLUG to pick up some CDs to review and I stopped at Albertson's on 2nd south on my way back to work. As I walked in the store, the deli area was on my right and somehow-I'm not really sure exactly how-these glorious plump and golden chicken wings caught my eye. Anyone who knows me well, knows I am a sucker for chicken wings. Lately I've been indulging in spectacular wings at Sugarhouse BBQ Co. -go check them out, I promise you will NOT be disapointed! When I saw the Albertson's wings, they looked so amazing under the heat lamp and I couldn't resist and I got some-hence the reason Hallie doesn't like me to do the shopping, because I repeatedly come home with uneeded items.

In my fit of hunger and disappointment from not finding the Grail cake, I ate them on my way back to work. When I got in my car I opened the container as if it were burried treasure and immediately my nose was filled with unpleasantness. Grieved by the gross smell, I ventured further and took a bite into the first wing....and....I wanted to spit it out. That's saying a lot for someone who has competed in many eating contests of varied kinds, with varying degrees of edible food. So what did I do next? Well, frustration, sadness and anger engrossed me and I wasn't about to let these wings I had spent money on go to waste (bad move), so I choked them down. Why did I do this? I have problems, that much is for sure.

Since returning to work, I have made a strong and perminent mental note to never get chicken wings from Albertson's again-no matter how they sizzle and glow under that heat lamp hell.

Don't do it, Jeremy... It's not worth it. (That picture is hilarious.)
