So I don't normally do this (I know, everyone starts off this way), but I honestly just intercepted an identity theft/credit card scam. Here's my story so you can avoid any trouble:
Yesterday I got an automated voice message call on my cell phone telling me that my factory warranty on my car was about to expire. I just hung up and figured the dealership would send me something in the mail or that Hallie would let me know. Not even five minutes ago I got a second call from the same thing and it said that it was my last chance to renew the factory warranty before it expired. It gave me an option to disconnect or to talk to a representative. At this point I thought it was some sort of scam, but I wanted to find out for sure, so I pushed the button to talk to a rep. When the rep came on he started asking for info and I said, "If you're offering me a renewal on my factory warranty, then what vehicle is it for?" He said, "For the one that's expiring." "Well, which vehicle is that then," I said. "You should know if you have my information and are notifying me that it's about to expire and that I need to renew it," and he hung up immediately.
As soon as he hung up on me I started typing this so hopefully no one falls for this scam!

Thanks for the info!!!
That is so scary!! I had the same two phone calls but I didn't talk to anyone and I'm glad that I didn't. Thanks for the info.
We got those calls too and I asked if I was leasing a car, then why would I need a warranty? The guy said he didn't know and I knew it was a scam. It really bothers me that they got my cell number though.
Yikes! I've actually gotten some notices in the mail with big red letters saying the same thing. I knew it wasn't true though--I've only had my car for 6 months and I have a 5-year warranty. Still scary.
I received this sort of thing through the mail and i called them just to see and it sure was a scam. When i called about it i went along with what they had to say and when they were wanting my credit card info. i told them i needed to talk with my husband first and the lady got all mad and i just hung up.we still get the slip of paper through the mail like everyday.
