About three or so years ago, we got Scrabble for Christmas and during my break from school and any time we both had away from work, we played it non-stop. It became an obsession for two weeks. We'd play for up to around four hours straight. It was the ultimate battle between us. Since then, we've played considerably less, but mostly I'd say, we go in bouts of playing a lot and then not for a bit. As of late, we've been at it again.
So last weekend Hallie and I put the youngster to sleep and decided to pull out the battleground if you will. Oh and the battle was on. I went first. Within seconds of drawing my tiles, I realized I was able to lay down all seven of them to beautifully spell: UPGRADE. For those who aren't Scrabble-heads, that meant that I received a 50 point bonus for laying down all of my tiles at once and that because it was across the pink-starred square in the middle that the word itself was worth double. I ended up with 74 point on my first turn! I could see Hallie about to implode out of jealousy of my extremely radical move I had managed to pull. My next few turns went almost nearly as well as the first. I racked up 20 and 40 point-ers and was quickly off to over a hundred point lead. I've got to hand it to Hallie though, even though my final score was over 300 (before subtracting the tiles I was stuck with, which put me to like 296 or somewhere around there), Hallie never gave up and had a rather impressive game herself. But on this night I was KING and yes, I take great pride in my victory-especially my first turn-which is why I had to share.

Love it! I hate Scrabble...only because i'm horrible at it.
My parents always played Scrabble and I thought that's just what married couples did. So when Blake and I were first married I made us buy it. I think we've honestly played it only twice. Good for you for stretching your brains and Scrabbling it up some!
If it were another game and I did that good I would feel the same way...but I hate Scrabble. It's painful to me. But I love winning anything and especially an awesome win. So good job.
i've always like scrabble. i think it dates back to when i was young and playing it with my grandma and she spelled sex i don't think i knew what it meant but i knew it was a bad word so it was really funny to me.
So you killed her, and now you're rubbing it in her face. I need to play again, it has been a long time.
There is not much better than winning Scrabble... except maybe winning Speed Scrabble - my personal favorite.
That's the only game Dustin will play one on one with me. He actually dominates. I think it's because I let him use the dictionary application on our mac...
