UNIVERSITY does not always equal PROFESSIONAL

Since we have made the decision that I am going back to school, the following has been my experience:
*Admissions department telling me I'd be able to register by April 13 (today-May 11-was the first day I was able to register)
*Admissions department not applying my application payment to my returning-student application, thus not allowing my application to process when turned in
*Art department office worker transferring my call regarding advising to another department, who promptly transferred me back to the same person from the art office that had just transferred me because though the art office said they couldn't help me, they were supposed to be taking advising appointments while the proper advisor was out of town (the office person still refused to help me)
*Art department supposedly setting up and appointment with a professor to help in advising me. Art office worker, then lying to me and telling me they were going to be out of town on the proposed day and the next day I would be at the University taking care of some things (I saw the professor that was "going to be out," of town the entire day walking around in the art building)
*Art office worker lying to me and saying they would be out of town and unable to help me with any advising (they were sitting right in their desk when I went in to grab a form on the day they were "going to be gone")
*Not being able to register and having a class fill up that is only offered once a year due to the admissions department not processing my application in a timely manner, as they assured it would be

BUT...today I was finally able to register for a few classes that remarkably still had openings and the rest I'll have to sign in to (fingers crossed!). I cannot express how big of a sigh I took when I was actually able to register today after all this!

AND...I at least have been able to meet with the proper Art Dept. advisor and she is AWESOME! What a relief. Anyone who's been through college knows how key an advisor is that really knows what they're doing!

It makes me mad even reading that! Did I ever tell you I walked and when my diploma never showed up 6 months later I called and they said I was 2 credits short of graduating! They weren't even going to tell me. So I thought I had finished and in reality I hadn't!!! Great advisor- I'm glad you're registered.

Oh my! I hope you were able to get those last two credits and "officially," graduate!

It makes me laugh (after I've gotten all the frustration out) how UNprofessional all the people at universities are, though they hold themselves in such high esteem!
