Here's part two of my top 50 list...I'll bet you were dying in anticipation!
As before, I'd love to hear some of yours or comments on mine!
26. Jimmy Eat World-Clarity
When I sold Living Scriptures, this album was a staple. There was something in the lyrics and in the way the vocals were sung that seemed to speak directly to me and that I related to.
27. Third Eye Blind-Third Eye Blind
Has always been a guilty pleasure CD for me. And if you've listened to it a few times, you too know that it is shockingly amazing.
28. Band of Annuals-Repondez
Utah indie/country band that blew my socks off when I saw them open for Daniel Johnston. The most talented Utah band I may have ever witnessed. Destined for fame and glory.
29. The Misfits-Collection I and II
Classic Halloween punk. Brutal lyrics that are more like a comic book than anything with brooding vocals courtesy of Glen Danzig.
30. Neutral Milk Hotel-In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
Amazing record. Amazingly strange and ornate all at once.
31. Pedro The Lion-It's Hard To Find A Friend
David Bazan's poignant, cynical and sarcastic view on religion and life intrigued me until I began to grasp his simple, yet deep sound.
32. The Postal Service-Give Up
An instant classic and favorite. Someday if we're lucky enough Ben Gibbard will put out a sophomore release to this.
33. The Promise Ring-Wood/Water
After becoming accustomed to The Promise Ring's Very Emergency, this album took a backseat for a long time until I finally understood it's mellow intricacies.
34. Propahandhi-Less Talk, More Rock
Political Canadian punk rock that helped me appreciate others' point of views, even if I did not agree with them all. An album with A LOT to say.
35. R.E.M.-Automatic For The People/Monster
These albums were staples for me as an early teenager. Michael Stipe's vocals and the diversity of each song drew me in and kept me around to listen. Classic for me and essential, though I haven't listened to either in years.
36. Radiohead-The Bends
The first Radiohead album I'd ever heard. I loved it. I still love it.
37. Metallica-Master of Puppets
Speed metal at its best. Until I heard this record (thank you again Brad), I never liked Metallica or appreciated speed or thrash metal. Undeniably powerful.
38. Thrice-The Illusion of Safety
My personal pick from these masters of melodic, hard-hitting anthems. Melodic enough to sing along to, but with enough edge to release a lot of energy. Not to mention the awesome religious undertones in most of their songs.
39. Tiger Army-III: Ghost Tigers Rise
I echo what Jesse said on this.
40. Toad The Wet Sprocket-Dulcinea
One most might not expect coming from me, but one of my all-time favorites nonetheless.
41. Two Gallants-What The Toll Tells
AMAZING. Like Johnny Cash on Meth. Country, folk, rock, raspy singing and screaming all mixed together. When I saw these guys (all two of them), it was so loud that I literally though my ears were bleeding, but I couldn't pull myself away to find ear plugs. I couldn't hear much for several hours after the show, but it was a pinnacle in live music performance and well worth it.
42. Wilco-Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
After having friends for years that loved all-things Wilco, I finally began my Wilco journey a couple years ago and have never looked back.
43. 7 Seconds-alt.music.hardcoreMusic with a message.
Punk rock with light, but powerful vocals and always a positive message. Another band that helped lend some inspiration in being a better person.
44. Band of Horses-Cease To Begin/Everything All The Time
Instantly loved these guys and listened to both albums simultaniously. Very talented and in my opinion, original.
45. Aereogramme-A Story In White
I've never heard such low-key and angelic-sounding music turn so brutal so quickly and somehow still sound good and mesh well together. Thanks Jason.
46. Alkaline Trio-From Here To Infirmary
Another staple during my Living Scriptures summer.
47. Ben Folds Five-Rockin' The Suburbs
Another band introduced to me in college and gratefully so. Like an indie rock Billy Joel with a bad mouth.
48. Ben Kweller-Sha Sha
Once again, from the college years and still classic.
49. The Bouncing Souls-Maniacal Laughter
An early record from one of the most entertaining punk rock live bands I've ever seen. Fantastic, just fantastic. "Born to Lose," was a high school hymn.
50. Further Seems Forever-The Moon Is Down
Stolen out of curiosity from a college roommate's computer and thankfully so. Dashboard dude's first band (and only good music he's made). Emotion abounds, almost too much, but not quite.

Great list. It kind of makes me want to do a 25-50. For some reason, I thought you hated REM.
Jesse-
You SHOULD do a 26-50 list! And nope, I love a lot of REM, but only what I know from those two albums. I stopped paying attention to them after 8th/9th grade when punk completely took over...
Let's see YOUR 26-50!
I like your top 50. It was fun to see which ones you chose.
I think I might do this but I could probably only come up with 10-20. We will see.
Mmmm . . . Toad the Wet Sprocket makes me happy! Also, sorry for Living Scriptures ruining your life. hehe.
